(Winchester, Va.) – The Dickinson baseball team turned in a solid performance, falling 6-1 at #9-ranked Shenandoah University on Monday afternoon.
The Hornets used a walk, hit batter and a single to put a run on the board in the bottom of the first inning. They tacked on four in the third to stretch the lead to 5-0, highlighted by a two-RBI single and a run scored by Abel Arocho.
Back-to-back walks and single from Jake Loew led to another Hornet run in the bottom of the fifth.
The Red Devils spoiled the shutout, scoring in the top of the sixth. Senior Ryan Dolan (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy) was hit by a pitch and made his way to third on a single from first-year Stephen Sakowicz (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South).
