Devil Rally Falls Short at Lancaster Bible

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped an 11-6 decision at Lancaster Bible College on Friday afternoon. The Red Devils looked to repeat Wednesday's thrilling rally, scoring five in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to 8-6.

The Chargers scored twice in the second and added lone runs in the third and fourth to lead, 4-1. Senior Matt Primavera (Erdenheim, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) launched a solo homerun to put Dickinson on the board in the top half of the fourth.

The hosts scored two in the fifth behind a pair of doubles and stretched the margin to 8-1 with a two-run homer in the sixth. Max Brown (Annapolis, Md./McDonogh School) recorded the second out of the seventh on a sacrifice fly to score Ben Carter (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) and the Red Devils tallied four more with two outs to cut the lead to 8-6.

Senior Brian McCloud (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) added a two-RBI single while first-years Stephen Sakowicz (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South) and Adam Quine (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) drove in runs as well.

Lancaster pushed across three in the bottom of the eighth, including two on a homerun by Justin Taylor for the final of 11-6.

Sakowicz led the Red Devils at the plate, going 2-for-3 on the day with a run scored and an RBI.

The Red Devils slip to 13-7 overall. They return home to face Penn State Mont Alto on Monday at 3:00 pm.
