Red Devils Drop Third of Season Despite 17-K Effort

(Radnor, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped just its third game of the season, falling to 12-3 with a 5-0 setback at Cabrini University on Friday.

The Red Devils ran into a solid pitching performance as Corey Hunt and Ray Lutick combined for a no-hitter, recording nine strikeouts while surrendering just three walks.

Hunt went 5.2 innings to earn the win, booking three strikeouts before Lutick came on for the save, adding six K's.

Joe Aurite drove in two runs in the bottom of the second and cleared the bases with a three-run double in the seventh as they improved to 12-4 on the year.

The Red Devil pitching staff had a epic outing in the loss as they combined for a remarkable 17 strikeouts. The Connecticut connection of Ben Rappaport (Wilton, Conn./St. Luke's) tallied eight strikeouts in four innings before Jake Geddes (Darien, Conn./Darien) came on to add seven in a three-inning stint. Connor Langan (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) closed with two strikeouts in the eighth.

Aurite and Henry each went 2-for-3 as Dickinson held the Cavaliers to just five hits.

The Red Devils are off for the weekend and return to action on Tuesday with a 3:30 pm start at Messiah College.
