(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team had a tough outing against visiting Muhlenberg College, falling 13-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

Muhlenberg used a lead-off double and a walk to set up a two RBI single from Jack Avallone to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

The Red Devils answered with a lone run in the bottom of the inning as Max Matilsky (Bernardsville, N.J./Morristown-Beard) reached on a two-out walk and came around to score on back-to-back singles from Alex Cohen (Newtown Square, Pa./Penn Charter) and Brian Reilly (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro).

Chris Grillo tripled to score a pair of runs and came around himself as the Mules stretched the lead to 5-1 in the top of the second.

Matilsky cut the deficit to 5-2 in the bottom of the third with a solo homerun over the wall in left field.

Grillo came in again in the fourth as Muhlenberg tacked on a pair to stretch the lead to 7-2. They tallied six more in a big ninth as Seth Wasserman led-off with a double and added a two RBI single in the inning.

Reilly added a pair of hits on the day, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Matilsky scored both runs, going 1-for-3 while adding a walk.

The Red Devils slip to 22-11 overall and 9-6 in the Centennial Conference. They are in action again tomorrow, traveling to Penn State Mont Alto for a non-conference match-up at 3:30 pm.
