Kayla Bendinelli '19 (Montgomery, NJ)

Major: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology

Internship: RiSE/SURF fellow, at Rutgers University

Why Kayla chose this research: I have been doing research on circadian rhythm and liver disease. I chose this dual summer program because it gave me the opportunity to expand my research experience and learn about graduate school at a research university.

Heather Meeder '20 (Jarrettsville, MD)

Major: International Business and Management

Internship: Finance Intern, at Techtronic Industries (Hunt Valley, MD)

Why Heather chose this internship: I picked this internship because I want to pursue a career in finance, and this helped me to get a full understanding of being a financial analyst.

Alana Platukus '20 (Wilkes Barre, PA)

Major: Biochemistry, Molecular Biology

Internship: Summer Research Intern, at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (Scranton, PA)

Why Alana chose this internship: I chose this internship because I would like to attend medical school. It was a great opportunity to do research at this academic institution and work alongside medical students to see the lifestyle of these individuals while they attend medical school. I also chose this internship because it gave me the experience of working in a laboratory every day, and learning new lab techniques outside of the classroom at Dickinson. It is invaluable to learn about molecular biology in a hands-on manner, and apply it to real life diseases and conditions.

Claire Taben '20 (Ridgefield, CT)

Major: International Business and Management | Minor: Economics

Internship: Human Resources Intern, at Winplus North America (Costa Mesa, CA)

Why Claire chose this internship: I chose this internship because during winter break I did a program where I went to Copenhagen, Denmark and Bremen, Germany to learn about how HR operates in these countries in comparison to the United States. Then in the spring semester, I took a 300 HR elective at Dickinson. For this internship, I was hosted by a trustee of Dickinson, Mark Lehman '71, and his wife Harriet Lehman. Mark worked at Winplus North America. I gained a lot of insight from the Lehman family.
