(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team reached the century mark as they returned to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, rolling past Haverford College, 101-59.
Senior Justus Melton (Charlotte, N.C./Covenant Day) led the charge, scoring 23 points, hitting 10-of-12 shots from the field, adding seven rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocked shots.
Sophomore Bryce Allen (Albany, N.Y./The Hill School) burned the nets for 20, hitting 7-of-10 shots, including 5-of-8 from three-point land. Allen dished out five assists to go with four rebounds and three steals.
First-year Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J/New Egypt) reached double-figures, hitting 3-of-4 three-pointers on the way to 11 points while Moses Romocki (Creedmoor, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) tallied 10 points.
The Red Devils jumped out to 9-2 lead and scored 20 points in the final five minutes of the half to lead, 58-35, at the break. They scored the first seven points of the second half and stretched the margin to 72-39, on an Allen three-pointer at the 15:09 mark.
The Red Devils remained in control throughout the game. Senior Sam Lorenzo (Sterling, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) went 5-for-6 from the line, scoring seven points. Mike Hinckley (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Jonathan Lang was the only player in double-figures for Haverford, scoring 17 points as the 'Fords slip to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
The Red Devils improve to 8-4 on the season and 4-1 in the CC. They return home to host Johns Hopkins on Tuesday night at 8:00 pm.
