(Harrisburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team opened the season with a fourth place finish at the 17-team Messiah Collage Falcon Classic at the Blue Ridge Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
First-year Charlie Zane (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School) led the Red Devils with a round of 76 to tie for eighth in the individual standings. Junior Jake Kessel (Woodcliff Lakes, N.J./Pascack) was in the 70's as well, just one stroke back with a 77 to tie for 11th.
Stephen Hoefer (Dallas, Texas/Cistercian Prep) carded an 82 while sophomores Bobby McFadden (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) and Vince Warzecha (Chester Springs, Pa./Malvern Prep) each came in with scores of 84.
Muhlenberg claimed the team title with a round of 304 with Lebanon Valley placing second with 309. Gettysburg finished with a 310 while Dickinson held off Albright and Messiah by a stroke to finish fourth with a 319.
The Red Devils return to action next Tuesday, competing in the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic at the Hershey Country Club East Course.
