Men's Golf Battles Weather, Competition at Mason-Dixon

(Abbottstown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team battled the rain on day one of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic at The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are currently in 13th place with a combined round of 324. Sophomore Bobby McFadden (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) led the way with an even 80 on the day while senior Jake Kessel (Woodcliff Lakes, N.J./Pascack) was one stroke back with an 81.

First-year Charlie Zane (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School) and senior Stephen Hoefer (Dallas, Texas/Cistercian Prep) both turned in cards of 82 and sophomore Stephen Bonacci (McLean, Va./Langley) came in with an 83.

Kenyon College leads the team scoring with a 290 with McDaniel in second at 297. McDaniel's Brandon Vance holds the lead with an opening round of 69 with two players one-stroke back.

Competition concludes with the second round tomorrow afternoon.
