(Abbottstown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team turned in a solid second round at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic on Sunday, but remained in 13th in the final standings. The Red Devils improved eight strokes, shooting a 316 for the day to finish with a 640 for the tournament.
Charlie Zane (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School) improved six strokes from Saturday to finish with a 156 (81-75). Senior Stephen Hoefer (Dallas, Texas/Cistercian Prep) cut four strokes, shooting a 78 on the day (82-78-160).
Sophomore Bobby McFadden (Perkasie, Pa./Christopher Dock) and Jake Kessel (Woodcliff Lakes, N.J./Pascack) finished the tournament with scores of 161 (80-81) and 163 (81-82). Sophomore Stephen Bonacci (McLean, Va./Langley) came in at 171 (83-88).
Kenyon College won the team title with a two-day total of 589 (290-299) while McDaniel placed second, shooting identical rounds of 297 for a 594.
McDaniel's Brandon Vance earned medalist honors with a 141 (69-72), holding off Gettysburg's Danny Harcourt by two stokes (71-72).
