Men's Soccer Suffers Setback in Red Devil Classic

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team dropped a tough decision to visiting Lycoming College in the first round of the Red Devil Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors struck twice in less than two minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Tanner Fonjweng put Lycoming on the board in the 37th minute before Alex Henry followed up in the 39th. Kyle Mizell tallied in the 78th minute for the final of 3-0.

The Warriors held a 14-9 advantage in shots on the day and held a slim 3-1 edge in corners.

Sophomore goaltender Frederick Meagher (Southport, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) made four saves as the Red Devils suffer their first loss of the season, slipping to 2-1.

In the second match-up, Gordon College scored once in each half to turn back Washington College, 2-0.

The Red Devils return to action on Sunday as they face Gordon in the second round match-up at 12:00 pm. Washington will square-off with Lycoming at 2:30 pm.
