(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Matt Edmonds (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA) Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team.
Edmonds capped a brilliant career with an outstanding senior season, leading the Red Devils to an appearance in the Centennial Conference championship game and into the NCAA Tournament.
Edmonds was recently named to the All-Conference First-team for the second straight year and will be a three-time member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. He will graduate with a degree in International Business & Management.
The senior midfielder ranked fifth in the conference in points, netting eight goals and handing out seven assists on the year. He tallied three game-winners and finished with 17 goals and 15 assists in his career.
The Red Devils had one of the most explosive offenses of the season, leading the conference with 52 goals while ranking second with 33 assists.
They erupted for a 5-0 win in the opening round of the conference playoffs and advanced to the conference final, knocking-off nationally-ranked, Johns Hopkins in penalty kicks in the semifinals.
This Red Devils suffered a 1-0 setback in the conference final but had a strong strength of schedule and quality resume to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Dickinson fell in the opening round to finish the season, 11-7-3 overall and posted a 4-3-2 mark in the conference.
