Bobcats Battle Past Devils in Top 20 Match Up

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #18-ranked Dickinson men's squash team suffered a heartbreaker to visiting #20-Bates College, 5-4, at the Kline Center on Saturday afternoon.

The match was back-and-forth through every flight, coming right down to the final matches.

The Red Devils earned points in the top two flights with junior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) claiming the number-one spot in straight sets (11-3, 11-8, 11-7).

Sophomore Sergio Martin (Querétaro, Mexico / Redwood, Calif.) earned a four-set win in a well-contested second flight (11-9, 12-10, 7-11, 11-8).

Cory Litman (Lower Merion, Pa./Lower Merion) traded sets with Benni McComish to earn a five-set victory in the seventh (11-6, 11-13, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9) and sophomore soccer crossover Osuman Imouro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) swept the nine spot, (11-9, 11-5, 11-5).

The Red Devils slip to 0-3 on the season. They are right back in action tomorrow, traveling to face the U.S. Naval Academy at 1:30 pm.
