Devil Men Swim Past McDaniel for Sixth Win

(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson College men's swim team raced past McDaniel College, 67-28, on Saturday afternoon.


First-year Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) led the way with three wins on the afternoon. Adams touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke (56.08), swam the lead leg on the 200 medley relay (1:41.03) and anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:30.25).


Senior Andy Wade (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) added three wins for the Red Devils as well, clocking the top times in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events at 22.38 and 49.61, respectively. He also swam the lead leg of the 200 free relay. Classmate Jordan Reed (Mercersburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.29 and swam the second leg of the medley relay.


Senior Tyler Derreth (Hanover, Pa./South Western) anchored the medley relay and swam the third leg of the free relay while first-year Cris Miranda (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) captured the 100 butterfly (55.21) and also joined the medley relay. First-year Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) claimed a win in the 200 individual medley (2:06.30) and placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.74.


The Red Devils improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to host Washington College next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
