(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team came out on top of a highly competitive Centennial Conference meet with visiting Franklin & Marshall, posting a 115-90 victory on Senior Day at the Kline Center.
The Red Devils had a great showing in the 200 breaststroke, capturing the top three spots to play a key role in securing the win. Senior Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College Area) led the way with a winning time of 2:09.48.
Junior Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was second with a time of 2:14.45, followed by first-year Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) in third with a mark of 2:15.48. Eaton added a win with the 400-medley relay while Freeman claimed second in the 200 individual medley, coming in at 2:01.12.
Sophomore Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends Central) touched the wall first in the individual medley, posting a time of 1:58.64, and anchored the winning medley relay as well.
Junior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) turned in two strong performances in the distance events, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:10.63 and the 500-free in a time of 4:55.05. First-year James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) came in third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:24.99.
Senior Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) captured the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:47.30 and placed second in the 100 freestyle, clocking a time of 49.07. He swam the second leg of the second-place 400 free relay as they combined for a time of 3:21.01.
First-year Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) led-off the winning medley relay and finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:59.65.
Sophomore Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) earned two wins, joining the medley relay and clocking a winning time in the 200 butterfly with a 1:57.67. He anchored the second place free relay for his second gold of the day.
Senior Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) led-off the second-place free relay and placed third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.86.
The Red Devils improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are scheduled to travel to Gettysburg College on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm match-up with the Bullets.
