Men's Swimming Wins Home Opener 126-79

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team posted a 126-79 win over the University of Scranton it its home opener on Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center.

Sophomore Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) was as triple-winner on the day. He anchored the 200-medley relay, and won the 200 individual medley (1:59.30) and the 200 breaststroke (2:15.27).

Senior Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) was right behind Freeman in the breaststroke, claiming third with a time of 2:15.37. He joined the winning medley relay and added a third-place showing in the 200 individual medley.

Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) won both distance events, touching the wall in 10:26.68 to claim the 1000 freestyle and clocking a time of 5:02.38 in the 500. Sophomore James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) was second in the 1000 with a time of 10:43.78.

First-year Colin Shea (Merion Station, Pa./Lower Merion) led-off the winning medley relay as they posted a time of 1:41.12. He added a win in the 100 freestyle (50.24) and placed second in the 50 free with a time of 22.93.

Classmate Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) won the 200 butterfly (2:03.84) and joined the winning medley and second-place free relays.

Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) had a win in the 200 free (1:49.78) and claimed silver in the 200 backstroke (2:03.87) and as the anchor of the free relay. Senior Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) won the 50 freestyle in 22.89 and joined the free relay as well.

The Red Devils improve to 3-1 on the season. They are home again next Saturday, hosting Bloomsburg University at 1:00 pm.
