(Newville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team returned to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, posting a 111-76 win over McDaniel College, at Big Spring High School.
Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) led the way, winning both distance events with a time of 10:25.52 in the 1000 freestyle and a mark of 5:05.16 in the 500. Sophomore James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) had a pair of strong swims as well, placing third in the 1000 and 500 free events.
Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) scored well with a win in the 200 freestyle (1:49.80), and second place showings in the 200 backstroke (56.08) and with the 200 medley relay (1:39.27).
Classmate Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) had a similar outing, winning the 200 individual medley (1:58.59) and earning silvers with the medley relay and in the 200 breaststroke (1:02.33).
First-year Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) claimed silvers in the 100 and 200 freestyle events, clocking times of 50.09 and 1:49.93, adding a strong exhibition showing with the 200 free relay.
Senior Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) won the 50 freestyle (22.79) and anchored the medley relay while classmate Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.53).
Junior Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) returned to action, winning the 100 butterfly (53.58) and joining the medley relay. Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends Central) also returned from abroad, earning third in the 200 individual medley.
Senior Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) added a third-place finish in the 200 free and placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke.
The Red Devils improve to 4-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road next Saturday, traveling to Washington College for a 2:00 pm start.
