Men's Swimming Post Wins Over Wilkes, LVC

(Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team had a strong showing, posting two wins against Wilkes University and Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils swam past the host Colonels 107-92 and posted a 130-46 win over Lebanon Valley.

First-year Logan Cort (Brookeville, Md./Mercersburg) captured both distance events, winning the 1000 freestyle in 10:31.44 and the 500 free with a time of 5:04.13. Sophomore James Cummings (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) touched the wall second in the 1000.

Senior Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) joined the winning 200-medley relay and won the 100-butterfly with a time of 54.90.

Junior Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./The Pennington School) and Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends' Central) went one-two in the 200-individual medley with Freeman claiming the top spot with a time of 15:9.78. Shapiro touched the wall in 2:05.30 and anchored the medley relay while Freeman swam the second leg.

Junior Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) swam the lead leg of the medley relay and posted a win in the 100-backstroke with a time of 56.02. Sophomore Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) was second in the backstroke with a mark of 56.07.

First-year Damon St. Prix (Barbados/Peddie School, N.J.) and Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) placed second and third in the 200 freestyle. St. Prix captured the win in the 100 freestyle, posting a time of 50.61. Catania finished second behind Cort in the 500 free.

First-year Ben Shoul (Hanover, Pa./Southwestern) won the 50 freestyle with a mark of 22.15 and placed third in the 100-butterfly.

The Red Devils improve to 2-1 on the season. They return home to host the University of Scranton on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00 pm.
