Eric Bologa (Shippensburg University ’15) joins the Dickinson coaching staff as an assistant coach for the men and women’s cross country and track & field programs, specializing in the sprint, hurdle and relay events. He spent the past three years as a graduate assistant and intern assistant coach for men and women’s cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field at Frostburg State University.
At Frostburg, Bologa assisted in the coaching of multiple Capital Athletic Conference champions and place-winners, All-Region athletes, a 4-time CAC Athlete of the Year and one NCAA DIII Championship qualifier. In addition, he coached numerous athletes who broke both FSU and CAC records.
While competing at Shippensburg University, Bologa was a two-time NCAA DII All-American in the 400-meter hurdles, as well as an All-American in the 4x400 meter relay. He also earned USTFCCCA Academic All-American honors twice during his career. Bologa capped his career at Shippensburg being named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.
Bologa posted 15 PSAC Championship place-winning performances, earning four individual PSAC championships and contributing to three championship 4x400 meter relays. He left Shippensburg University holding the school record for the indoor 400m and 500m, 400m hurdles, as well as leading off on the school and PSAC record holding indoor and outdoor 4x400 meter relays.
Bologa graduated from Frostburg State University with a M. Ed. in school counseling after graduating from Shippensburg University with a B.S. in sociology. He also holds USATF Level 1 Certification.
