(Center Valley, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) ran to fourth place at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships, hosted by De Sales University on Saturday.
Herrmann clocked a time of 26:04, finishing just 13 seconds behind the individual champion, leading the Red Devils to a seventh-place finish in the 33-team field.
First-year Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) just missed All-Region honors, finishing 38th overall with a time of 27:08. Senior Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) was right there as well, crossing the line 42nd with a time of 27:16.
Charles Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) clocked a time of 27:33 while senior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) came in at 28:14. Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and Odin Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) posted identical times of 28:20.
Carnegie Mellon University captured the team title, holding off second-place Haverford (76-84) while Johns Hopkins placed third.
Herrmann is in a strong position to earn an individual spot at the 2018 National Championship, next weekend at Wisconsin Eau-Claire.
