Bears Take Two in Softball Season Finale

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson softball team dropped its final regular season double-header on Saturday, falling to Ursinus College, 4-1 and 5-0, at Dickinson Park.

Kayla Quinn and Samantha Garritano each drove in runs to put the Bears in front, 2-0, in the top of the fifth inning of game one.

The Red Devils answered as sophomore Madison Milaszewski (Rutland, Mass./Sutton) showed some offense with a single and a run scored as senior Nicole Torlincasi (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) tallied an RBI to cut deficit to one.

Garritano drove in two runs in the top of the seventh and Ursinus held on for the 4-1 decision.

A two-out walk and a double put the Bears on the board in the second inning of game two. They tallied twice in the fifth and sixth innings to sweep the series with a 5-0 win.

Devoan Cinalli recorded seven strikeouts in the opener and Kaitlyn Willis held the Devils to three hits in the nightcap.

Torlincasi added another hit while Nicole Clayton (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) and Killian Kueny (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) each had hits as well.

Junior Emily Rosenberg (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) went a complete game in the opener, booking six strikeouts, and went five innings in game two.

The Red Devils finish the season 10-26 overall and 5-11 in the Centennial Conference.
