(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team had a tough outing against #10-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Diplomats, 15-4.

The Red Devils had a solid start, holding the Diplomats' potent offense scoreless until the 21:40 mark. Hannah Serling capitalized on a free position to put the visitors on the board.

Maddie Hughes tallied a hat-trick as F&M jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Maddy Siebold (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) found Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) at the 7:30 mark.

The Diplomats stretched the lead to 10-1 at the break and struck first to open the second half.

Senior Sophie Waine (Wellesley, Mass./Greenwich) answered and sophomore Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) tallied a pair of late goals for the final of 15-4.

Tara Cassidy (Glen Rock, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) turned in a solid performance, causing a pair of turnovers and picking up three ground balls.

The Red Devils were without All-Region goaltender Tara Cuddihy (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) as Layne Taber (Ruxton, Md./St. Paul's), Katie Barton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Country Day) and Kara Schwartz (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) stepped up and split time in the cage.

The Red Devils slip to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the conference. They look to hold on to a playoff spot as they close out the regular season at Ursinus with a 12:00 pm opening draw in Collegeville on Saturday.
