(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team wasted little time in the extra frame, scoring just 1:47 into the first overtime to post a 1-0 victory over Widener University on Wednesday night at Miller Memorial Field.

The Red Devils controlled possession for the better part of the match, but the Pride was able to keep the score level behind seven saves from first-year goalkeeper Delaney Sabath.

Dickinson outshot the Pride 15-2, holding an 8-0 advantage in the second half, but were still unable to find the back of the net.

The Red Devils capitalized on their first attack of the first overtime as sophomore Ally Diez (Rockville Center, N.Y./South Side) made a great move at the top of the penalty area and struck a beautiful chip shot just under the crossbar with the game-winner.

Senior goaltender Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) matched her single season shutout total from a year ago, posting her seventh of the year.

The Red Devils improve to 8-3-2 on the season. They are home again on Saturday, returning to Centennial Conference action with a 1:00 pm match against Bryn Mawr College.
