Red Devils Celebrate Senior Night With 9-0 Win

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #18-ranked Dickinson women's squash team celebrated Senior Night in style with a big win over visiting St. Lawrence University on Friday night at the Kline Center Squash Venue. The Red Devils got out to a strong start and played well in each flight to post a 9-0 win.

The Red Devils claimed seven flights in straight sets, led by senior Domenica Romo (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Atenas) with an (11-3, 11-8, 11-7) in the fourth.

Classmate Nicole DeLuca (Newtown Square, Pa./Baldwin School) earned a point with a 3-1 decision, taking the second set 11-2.

Seniors Alanis Perez (New Haven, Conn./The Canterbury School) and Abbie Wingerd (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) won in straight sets as Wingerd had a solid finish, going (11-4, 11-7, 11-3).

Senior Sarah Murphy (Hamilton, Mass./Brooks School) jumped out early 2-0 lead and held on with a 12-10 third set to claim her match.

Aya Sobhy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Blair Academy) had a solid showing in the fifth, rolling to an (11-3, 11-6, 11-6) decision.

The Red Devils improve to 7-7 on the season. They are in action again tomorrow, traveling to Franklin & Marshall. They will face Haverford College at 11:30 am and take on the host Diplomats at 5:00 pm.
