Lyman, Schmidt Post Big Wins at CC Championships

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team placed fifth at the 2019 Centennial Conference Championships, concluding on Sunday night at Gettysburg College.

Senior Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) led-off the night with a third-straight conference title in the 1650-freestyle, clocking a time of 17:08.73.

The Red Devils captured back-to-back gold as Katie Schmidt (Plymouth, Minn./Breck School) won the 200-backstroke with a mark of 2:03.52. Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) was second in the B-final to claim 10th overall.

Sophomore Hannah Griffith (Lansdale, Pa./William Penn Charter) and first-year Maddi Vlattas (Herndon, Va./Westfield) placed fifth and sixth in the 200-breaststroke, clocking times of 2:28.14 and 2:28.30.

Lyman and Schmidt joined senior Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) junior Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) to finish seventh in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:42.61.

Callahan joined Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland), Audree Khalishah (Jakarta, Indonesia/Jakarta International School) and Brooke Kelly (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) for a 12th-place finish in the 400-free relay.

Ursinus College won the team title, outscoring second-place Swarthmore 816.5-676.
