Devil Women Top Georgetown to Improve to 4-1
(Hilton Head, S.C.) - The Dickinson College women's tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season, defeating Georgetown College of Kentucky, 6-3, on Tuesday.
Junior Alysia Rodgers (Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson) captured the top singles flight, 8-1 and teamed with sophomore Shannon Lavery (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington) for an 8-0 in the number one doubles match.
Lavery claimed the second singles flight, 8-4, while the Devils captured the fourth, fifth and sixth singles flights for the 6-3 final. Seniors Brittany Zoll (Malvern, Pa./Shipley) and Leigh Oczkowski (Binghamton, N.Y./Seton Catholic) earned wins in the fourth and fifth flights, respectively. First-year Ilana Unger (Boulder, Colo./Alexander Dawson) posted an 8-3 win in the six spot.
The Red Devils (4-1) continue play in Hilton Head, facing Westminster on Wednesday and Spring Arbor on Friday.
