(Orlando, Fla.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team rebounded from a tough loss to #10-ranked Carnegie Mellon on Sunday and slipped past Ithaca College, 5-4, on Monday morning in Orlando, Florida.

The Bombers opened a 2-1 lead in doubles, claiming the first and second flights while defaulting in the third. Emily Sprague (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) and Lexi Epstein (Falmouth, Maine/Waynflete) gave a strong challenge in the number two spot, falling 8-5.

Epstein dropped a hard-fought battle in the second singles flight as Caroline Dunn claimed a 7-6, 6-4 decision. The Bombers captured the top flight as well, but Dickinson would sweep the next four flights to earn the win.

Hanna Butler (Gibson Island, Md./Severn School) won in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) while Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) went (6-0, 6-1) to earn the point in the fourth flight.

Senior Olivia Shea (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) came out on top of a three-set match-up with Rel Klein (7-6, 2-6, 10-7).

The Red Devils improve to 1-2 on the season. They are set to face Division II Bloomsburg University and Morningside College (NAIA) on Wednesday.
