(Elizabethtown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team competed at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Final Tune Up on Saturday afternoon in preparation for next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships. The Red Devils captured second place in the team standings, behind host Elizabethtown.
Senior Amanda Jimcosky (Benton, Pa./Northwest Area) recorded three wins on the day, claiming gold in the high jump, long jump and triple jump events. Classmate Imani Beard (New York, N.Y./MLK) was third in the long and sixth in the high jump.
Sophie Moore (Stonington, Conn./Stonington) was fifth in the long jump, adding a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles and finished eighth in the 800.
Senior Adriana Frayne-Reixa (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) crossed the line first in the 800 meters and placed second in the 1500 while Olivia Watson (Weston, Conn./Weston) placed third in the 800 meters.
Nelson and first-year Emily Messer (Mason, N.H./Lawrence Academy) placed fourth and fifth in the 400 meters hurdles while first-year Lauren Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) ran to silver in the 400 meter hurdles and was also sixth in the triple jump.
Niomi Phillips (Oakmont, Pa./Riverview) and Mary Smith (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) showed well in the shot put and discus. Phillips placed fourth in both and earned bronze in the javelin as well. Smith was third in the discus and fifth in the shot put on the day.
The Red Devils won the 4x100 meter relay and was second in the 4x400.
The Red Devils will compete at the 2017 Centennial Conference Championships at Johns Hopkins next weekend. The three-day event begins on Friday.
