(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's indoor track & field programs had six student-athletes named to the 2019 All-Centennial Conference team and four receive U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region recognition this winter.
Senior Naji Thompson (Springfield, N.J./Oak Knoll) led the women's team, earning her second All-Region honor, finishing top-five in the 60-meter dash. She earned First-team All-Conference with a win in the 60-meter dash. Remarkably, Thompson matched her own school record twice, clocking identical marks of 7.89 in the prelims and the finals to capture her second conference championship in the event.
Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) also placed in the top-five in the 3000-meters to earn All-Region honors. She had a great weekend at the conference championships, earning First-team honors with the distance medley relay and Second-team honors in the mile.
Sophomore Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) earned First-team All-Conference with the distance medley relay and ran to Second-team honors in the 800-meters.
Junior Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) earned her second All-Region honor, finishing top five in the 3000-meters after running to All-Region honors in the 5000-meters in 2017. She earned Second-team All-Conference honors in the 3000-meters this winter.
Sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) was an All-Region selection in the 5000-meters, placing fourth at the conference championships while adding a fifth-place showing in the 3000-meters as well.
Dickinson senior Eryn Nelson (York, Pa./Central York) was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils captured third in the team standings at the conference championships, finishing just five points behind second-place Swarthmore. Both Cardi and House qualified in the 3000-meters while Johnston made the cut in the 5000-meters for the NCAA Division III National Championships and will travel to the University of Massachusetts-Boston this weekend.
