Women's T&F Wins Little Three Championship

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's outdoor track & field team won the Little Three Championship on Saturday, scoring 164 points in the day. Franklin & Marshall was second with 125 while Gettysburg claimed third with 105.

The Red Devils turned in some strong performances, claiming the top four spots in the 5000-meters and going one-two-three in the 800.

Junior Natalie Suess (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) scored well on the day, winning the high jump, triple jump and the 4x100 relay. She was second with the 4x400 relay and placed third in the 400-meters as well.

Junior Wrutoe Bonwin (Lynn, Mass./KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate) ran the lead leg of the winning 4x100 relay and placed third in the 100 and 200-meter events.

First-year Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) anchored the 4x100 relay and added a win in the pole vault. She also ran to second in the 100-meter hurdles. Eryn Nelson (York, Pa./Central York) placed second in the 400-meter hurdles.

Senior Naji Thompson (Springfield, N.J./Oak Knoll) captured gold in the 100 and 200-meter events. Liana Tabtiang (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) was second in the 200 and fourth in the 400 meters. She joined the winning 4x100 relay and placed second with the 4x400.

Sophomore Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) won the 800 meters and placed second in the 400 and with the 4x400 relay. Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) earned three silver medals on the day, placing second in the 800, 1500 and with the 4x400 relay.

Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) crossed the line first in the 1500 meters, placed second with the 4x800 relay and was third in the 800 meters. Senior Claire Connors (Needham, Mass./Needham) and Olivia Watson (Weston, Conn./Weston) joined first-year Isabella Fife (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) in the 4x800.

Senior Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) and junior Teressa Healy (Pelham, N.Y./Loyola School) went one-two in the 3000-meters while Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) led the quintet of Red Devils in the 5000, crossing first and second, respectively.

First-year Lana Ljoka (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) won the long jump and placed second in the triple jump while classmate Analisa Groble (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) earned second in the javelin.

The Red Devils travel to the Muhlenberg Invitational next Saturday.
