(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team continued to prepare for the outdoor championships, competing at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday.
First-year Analisa Groble (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) won the javelin with a new collegiate best to highlight the day while junior Mary Smith (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) had a good day in the throwing events as well, placing fourth in the discus and the hammer and finishing sixth in the shot put.
Sophomore Jenny Beck (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) had three top-10 performances, placing seventh in the discus and the hammer and eighth in the shot put.
First-year Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Needham) had another strong showing, claiming fourth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Senior Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) and sophomore Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) finished fifth and seventh in the 5000-meters while first-year Isabella Fife (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) ran to seventh in the 1500.
First-year Lilianna Matala (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame – Bishop Gibbons) and Lana Ljoka (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) had top-10 performances, taking sixth in the high jump and ninth in the triple jump, respectively.
Sophomore Annie Ulian (Wellesley Hills, Mass..Wellesley) was eight in the 800-meters and senior Claire Connors (Needham, Mass./Needham) ran to 10th. Junior Wrutoe Bonwin (Lynn, Mass./KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate) was 10th in the 100 meters.
The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at the Messiah College Invitational next weekend as well as the Bucknell Distance Carnival on Saturday.
