Red Devils Drop Two at Muhlenberg

(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team suffered a pair of setbacks at Muhlenberg College on Saturday. The Red Devils had three strong sets in the opener against the Mules, but dropped the match, (25-20, 25-17, 25-20).

First-year Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) tallied 23 assists while classmate Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorrigueno de Ninas) recorded 19 digs and three service aces.

First-year Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) led the attack with nine kills while Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) put away eight kills, adding nine digs and Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) had six kills and six digs in the opener.

The Red Devils had another strong showing in a 3-1 loss to DeSales. The Bulldogs claimed the first two sets by identical scores of 25-19. Dickinson rallied with a 25-23 decision to force a fourth set but DeSales survived another marathon set to take the match, 26-24.

Bongo added 13 kills and nine digs in the nightcap while Park had nine kills, four blocks and a pair of service aces. Jordyn Park (Great Falls, Va./Flint Hill) added nine kills and 11 digs while Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) and Singer each picked up 13 digs.

Lopez set a school record, finishing with 45 digs in the nightcap with Allgaier handing out 32 assists.

The Red Devils slip to 5-8 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Elizabethtown College on Monday for a 7:00 pm match.
