(Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to #23-ranked Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils had strong showings in the first two sets but the Blue Jays led 2-0 with scores of 25-17 and 25-21. Dickinson led in the third, 5-4, before the hosts made a 5-0 run and went on to close out the match, 25-13.
Senior Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) led the way for the Red Devils with seven kills, three aces and a pair of blocks. First-year Kylie Albertsen (Woodstock, Md./Marriots Ridge) tallied five kills while Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) and Megan Gombatz (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) each added three.
Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegia Puertorricquenos de Ninas) had nine digs and a pair of acces. Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 11 assists, adding two digs and a block.
The Blue Jays improved to 14-2 on the season and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Dickinson returns to host Washington College on Saturday at 12:00 pm on homecoming weekend.
