#25-Ranked Garnet Top Devils in CC Opener

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team had a strong showing but suffered a 3-0 setback to #25-ranked Swarthmore College on Saturday in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.

The Garnet came out strong, taking the opening set, 25-12, but the Red Devils regrouped in the final two sets, falling 25-19, 25-20.

Junior Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) and first-year Christina Chu (Hartsdale, Pa./Ardsley) each tallied 11 assists while Chu tallied eight digs as well.

First-year Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) led the attack at the net with nine kills while sophomore libero Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorricqueno de Ninas) picked up nine digs.

Jenna Schumann (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown) and Hannah Riley (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) each tallied four kills and combined for four digs.

The Red Devils slip to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils are on the road on Thursday, traveling to Franklin & Marshall for a 7:00 pm start.
