Red Devils Honor Seniors in Season Finale

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team had a strong start against visiting Gettysburg College, but the Bullets would come out on top, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first set before the Red Devils rallied go up 1-0 with a 25-20 decision.

The Bullets countered, taking the next two sets (25-14, 25-16). The teams traded points to start the fourth with the Red Devils gaining some separation at 12-7. Gettysburg chipped away and pulled even at 16-16.

They continued to trade points, knotting the match at 22-22. The Bullets were able to close out the match with a 25-23 score in the fourth.

First-year Emma Lange (Jupiter, Fla./Benjamin) had a monster game at the night, recording 17 kills and three blocks, adding a pair of aces while classmate Hannah Riley (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) reached double-figures with 11 kills.

Junior Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) dished out 27 assists while Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 10.

Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) tallied 12 digs, five assists and three kills on the afternoon while Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) added 10 digs on the afternoon.

The Red Devils honored seniors Grace Stromberg (Lutherville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and Megan Gombatz (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) before the game, and also recognized Megan's sister, Rachel, a senior on the Gettysburg team. Also honored was senior student assistant coach Pierce Van Mulbrecht for his contributions to the program as well.

The Red Devils finish the season 10-18 overall and 2-8 in the Centennial Conference.
