Women's Cross Country Takes Second at CC Championship

(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's cross country ran to second at the 2018 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships at Haverford College on Saturday. Johns Hopkins captured the team title with 15 points while the Red Devils came in with 58 to better third-place Haverford with 100.

Sophomore Emma Johnston (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) led the way for the Red Devils, earning Second-team All-Conference with an eighth-place finish, coming in at 22:11.

Sophomore Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) crossed the line ninth with a time of 22:27 to earn All-CC honors while Sarah House (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and Tessa Cassidy (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) placed 16th and 19th with marks of 22:50 and 23:02, respectively.

Senior Lucile Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) finished in the top 20 with a time of 23:06.

Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Candace Ionescu (Maple Glen, Pa./Upper Dublin) finished 25th and 27th for the Red Devils, posting marks of 23:31 and 23:38.

The Red Devils will travel to the NCAA Mideast Regionals at De Sales University on November 10.
