Josh Rapp (Widener '16) joined the Red Devil football staff in the fall of 2018, coming to Carlisle from Widener University in West Chester, Pa. He gained valuable experience at Widener, spending four seasons as an assistant coach with the Pride.
He was hired as an assistant defensive line coach in 2014 and in 2016 moved over to the offense, working with wide receivers and serving as the offensive coordinator for the junior varsity squad. Last fall, Rapp returned to the defense and was responsible for linebackers. He also became the assistant recruiting coordinator and J.V. defensive coordinator.
He has helped produce numerous All-Conference and All-Region performers, mentoring an All-American and the 2014 Conference Player of the Year.
Rapp received a B.A. in sports management in 2016 and a master of education from Widener in 2018. He earned an associates of arts in business management degree from Valley Forge Military College in 2011. He was a two-time All-Conference player at Valley Forge, winning a conference championship in 2009 and serving as a team captain in 2010. He suffered a season ending injury in his first game playing for Widener in 2013.
Rapp will work primarily with the defensive line and assist with the coordination of recruiting.
