(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson College has announced the hiring of Aimee MacFarland as an assistant coach with the Red Devil field hockey program.
MacFarland is a recent graduate of Delaware Valley University where she was a four-year starter for the Aggies. MacFarland was a standout defender and midfielder, starting all but one game in her career and serving as a team captain as a senior. She started all 16 games last fall, recording four defensive saves on the year.
In addition to field hockey, MacFarland was a member of the Aggie women's lacrosse team, earning a starting role this past spring. During her time at Delaware Valley she was a Peer Mentor, member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as the vice president during her senior year.
MacFarland has gained some valuable coaching experience as well, working with the FSC Field Hockey Club and leading the U-16 team into the National Indoor Tournament in the spring of 2018. She is a 2015 graduate of Souderton Area High School, earning a starting role as a junior and senior and serving as a team captain in her final season. In addition, she has been part of the coaching staff at the Souderton Field Hockey Camp since 2014.
A 2019 graduate of Delaware Valley, MacFarland earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Sports Management.
