(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team reached the century mark in the Kline Center for the first time since 2006, opening the Centennial Conference season with a 101-63 rout of visiting Muhlenberg on Tuesday night.

Senior guard Mike Hinckley (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) led a strong push to start the game, hitting a jumper and then feeding first-year Jack Tierney (Darien, Conn./Darien) to put the Devils in front, 19-10, at the 14:54 mark.

The Mules cut the lead to four, but Dickinson quickly built the lead back to 11 with the help of a three-pointer from Tierney and a steal and score by junior Bryce Allen (Albany, N.Y./The Hill School).

Allen found Hinckley for a lay-up and then pulled a rebound and went coast-to-coast to give the Red Devils a 45-31 advantage at halftime.

Brendan Hughes buried a three-pointer to start the second half before the Red Devils answered with a 14-4 run to lead by 21 at the 15-minute mark.

Dickinson started bombing three-pointers and went in front 76-48 behind triples from Hinckley, Allen and senior Elijah Wright (Orange, N.J./Pennington School) at the midpoint of the half.

Sophomore Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) found a groove, knocking down a pair of three-pointers and scoring on a three-point play for nine points on the night. Junior Mike Jurzynski (Pearl River, N.Y./The Master's School) hit a three-pointer to give Dickinson its biggest margin of the night at 99-56 with just over two minutes to play.

Five Red Devils reached double-figures, led by Hinckley with a game-high 19 points, adding six rebounds and four assists. He was just one steal shy of the school record with seven on the night as well.

Allen went 7-for-10 from field for 16 points, adding eight rebounds, three assists and two steals while Wright finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Tierney tallied 10 points and three blocked shots and first-year Adam Drummond (Cork, Ireland/Taft School, Conn.) had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Dan Gaines led Muhlenberg with 16 points while Michael Morreale added 15 as the Mules slip to 2-3 on the season.

The Red Devils improve to 1-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Misericordia University on Sunday for a 4:00 pm tip-off.
