Ken Broomer returned to the bench for the Red Devils at the start of the 2014-15 season. Having been an assistant for the 2008-2009 campaign, he spent five seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Bloomsburg University.
Over that span, he coached five All-PSAC East honorees including the 2012 PSAC East Player of the Year and the conference’s first PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year. Bloomsburg finished the 2010-2011 season as Conference Champions and reached the Conference playoffs three years in a row, which had not been accomplished in over a decade.
Other coaching stops include four years as an assistant at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as well as one season as an assistant for Saint Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Basketball team.
Broomer is a retired Naval Officer currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration. He has a master’s degree from the Naval Post Graduate School as well as an Executive MBA Certificate from Tulane University. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, and currently teaches graduate and undergraduate logistics courses at Mount St. Mary’s University.
