Anthony Pompei

Anthony Pompei is entering his third season as the head coach of Men's and Women's Swimming for the Red Devils.

Following a remarkable 2024-2025 campaign, Pompei led both programs to their best conference championship finishes since 2020, with both the men's and women's teams placing 4th at the Centennial Conference Championships. Under his guidance, the Red Devils established 10 new team records during the season, including four records set at the conference meet itself. Beyond their achievements in the pool, both teams demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, earning CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors for both the fall and spring semesters.

The 2024-2025 success built upon an impressive 2023-2024 season, which saw sophomore James Wright establish a new team record in the 200 backstroke enroute to earning a bronze medal at the Centennial Conference Championship, while sophomore Tori May claimed a silver medal in the 1650 freestyle. Overall, both teams combined to score more points and achieve more total finals swims than the previous season, with the men's team tying for the highest percentage of lifetime bests (67%) at the conference championship meet. The Red Devils also maintained their academic excellence during the 2023-2024 campaign, with both teams earning CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors for the fall and spring semesters.

Pompei comes to Carlisle via fellow Centennial Conference institution Gettysburg College, where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Bullets. During his tenure with the Bullets, he helped them to claim a runner-up finish in both the men's and women's Centennial Conference Championships, while aiding in two Top-3 team results at the conference meet in 2021-22. Pompei helped student-athletes break 15 Gettysburg team records during his time at the battlefield. Over the course of his career with the Bullets he assisted with the development of six NCAA National Qualifiers, two CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, one COSIDA Academic All-American and one Centennial Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Prior to his stint at Gettysburg, Anthony spent two years as a graduate assistant swim coach at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.Â
