(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team opened the 2018-19 season, hosting its fall invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon. The Red Devils turned in some outstanding performances, capturing both second and fourth in the team standings.
First-years Drew Stern (Yardley, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) and Chan Park (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) led the way for the Red Devils, tying for fourth in the individual standings with rounds of 72.
Classmate Christopher Joson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and sophomore Schuyler Leff (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) were right there as well, both turning in cards of 74. First-year Justin Shim (Herndon, Va./Paul VI Catholic) came in with a 77 to give the Dickinson Red a second-place finish.
Senior Stephen Bonacci (McLean, Va./Langley), playing as an individual, turned in a 74.
Sophomore Jacob Liberman (Wayne, Pa./Friends' Central) shot a 74 for the Dickinson White squad while Tyler Caballero (Lutherville, Md./St. Paul's) and first-year Francis Randazzo (Summit, N.J./Morristown-Beard) finished with rounds of 79 to capture fourth.
Gettysburg captured the team title with a combined score of 288 with the Dickinson Red team combining for 297. McDaniel slipped into third with an even 300 while the Dickinson White tallied 304 to tie Muhlenberg in the 13-team event.
The Red Devils travel to the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational at the Country Club of Harrisburg on Sunday and Monday, September 16 and 17.
Dr. Don Roeder, U.S. Navy retired, played the national anthem on the trumpet before the event. Dr. Roeder is pictured below with head coach Darwin Breaux, and senior golfers Vince Warzecha and Stephen Bonacci.
