Lown Wins Tie-Breaker, Red Devils Second

(Lehigh, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team turned in an outstanding team effort on Monday afternoon, finishing second at the 18-team Muhlenberg Invitational at the Lehigh Country Club.

The Red Devils finished just three strokes behind tournament champion Penn State Berks, and six strokes in front of Alvernia.

All five Red Devils shot in the 70's to combine for a 299 on the day. First-year Peter Lown (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth) tied for first and earned medalist honors with a match of cards on the back nine, going one over par with a 71.

Classmate Joseph Hudak (Phoenix, Md./St. Paul's School) was sixth overall with a round of 73 while William McCann (Madison, N.J./Morristown-Beard) carded a 77 to finish in the top 20.

Drew Stern (Yardley, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) and Brandon Wilson (Perry Hall, Md./St. Paul's School) both came in with rounds of 78 on the day, securing a 299 with either card.

The Red Devils are back in action tomorrow, traveling to the Gettysburg Invitational at the Hanover Country Club at 12:30 pm.
