(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson College had three players named to the 2019 All-Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Team, announced on Wednesday. Senior Kevin Gilbert (Boxford, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy) was a First-team selection, classmate Brendan McGovern (Burlington, Vt./Kimberly Union Academy) earned Second-team honors and first-year Isaac Bradbury (Toronto, Canada/St. Andrews College) received honorable mention.
Gilbert makes his third appearance on the All-CC squad as a Second-team selection in 2017 and elevating to the First-team last fall. He ranked fourth in the conference with nine goals, raising his career total to 35, ranking him third all-time in program history. He added 11 assists to rank fourth in career points with 81.
Gilbert broke into the single season top 10 with 12 goals in 2018 and 13 goals and 31 points in 2017.
McGovern was a dominant force in the midfield with the ability to defend, attack and be a holding midfielder. He tallied five goals and one assist on the year to raise his career totals to 18 goals and five assists. He struck twice as the Red Devils handed Swarthmore its first loss of the season in the Centennial Conference opener. He started every game for the past two seasons and has five career game-winning goals, including three in 2017.
Bradbury made an immediate impact on the Red Devil line-up, earning 16 starts in his rookie campaign. He tallied the game-winning goal in a thrilling 3-2 victory over McDaniel and scored the lone goal in a key win over Ursinus.
In addition, senior Lionel Reid-Shaw (Hillsborough, N.C./Orange) was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils put together a late run, going 8-3 at the end of the season to claim the #3-seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs. They faced #3-ranked Johns Hopkins in back-to-back matches in the regular season finale and the conference semifinal, closing out the year 10-8 overall.
