Men's Tennis Rolls to 8-1 Win at Ursinus

(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team had another strong outing on Saturday, posting an 8-1 win at Ursinus College.

The Bears claimed their lone point in doubles, slipping away with an 8-7 decision.

Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis School) and Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) claimed the second doubles flight, 8-1, and posted straight set wins in the top two singles flights.

Sorkin, ranked 18th in the latest ITA listings, went 6-4, 6-0 in the top spot while Coan won his match (6-2, 6-4).

Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and Justin Pace (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) posted straight set wins in singles and battled in the top doubles flight.

Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvador/Escuela Americans) and Andrew Lai (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater) partnered for an 8-1 win in the third doubles flight and Lai earned another with a win in singles.

The Red Devils improve to 6-8 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Muhlenberg College for a 4:00 pm match.
