Men's Track & Field Captures Second at Blue Jay Tune Up

(Elizabethtown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team placed second at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Final Tune-Up as they prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships.

Senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) had a solid day in the throwing events, finishing second in the shot put, discus and hammer throw events. Robert Pearl (Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla./Pine Crest) was third in the hammer, and placed seventh and eighth in the shot put and discus, respectively. Francisco Villarreal (Carson, Calif./Carson) was eighth in the shot put.

The Red Devils had strong showings in the distance events as Oden Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) won the 5000 while junior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) crossed the line first in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

First-year Garrett Randall (Gwynn Oak, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) was second in the 100 meter dash and 11th in the 200. Michael Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) had a fifth-place showing in the 100 and was eighth in the 200.

Ben Sobel (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) placed fifth in the high jump and 10th in the long. Sophomore Aboody Rumman (Bahria Town Rawalpindi, Pakistan) was fifth in the triple jump.

The Red Devils travel to the Centennial Conference Championships next weekend at Ursinus College.
