(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's outdoor track & field team earned four spots on the 2018 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Mideast Region Team, announced this week.
Sophomore distance runner Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) received All-Region recognition in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. Descavish placed fourth in the 10K at the Centennial Conference Championships and captured a conference title with the 4x800 relay.
Descavish turned in an outstanding performance at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier, posting a career-best time of 14:30.46 to move up to 15th on the national qualifying list. His time held, earning him a spot at the 2018 National Championships this weekend.
Junior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) claimed All-Region honors in the 1,500 meters this spring. He ran to Second-team All-Conference honors in the 1,500 and joined the 4x800 relay to earn First-team recognition and the conference title. Herrmann was named All-Region in the 1,500 in 2017 as well.
First-year Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) had a great start to his collegiate career, earning his second All-Region honor in the pole vault. Rzempoluch earned All-Region for the indoor season as well. He captured the Centennial Conference titles, both indoors and outdoors, and was named the conference Rookie of the Year at both the indoor and outdoor conference championships.
The NCAA Division III National Championships are being held at Roger Herring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Sports Complex, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. Descavish is scheduled to compete in the 5,000 meters on Saturday at 3:00 pm central time (4:00 pm eastern).
