Red Devils Have Strong Start at E'Town Early Bird

(Elizabethtown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team started out the 2019 outdoor season with some strong performances at the Elizabethtown College Early Bird Invitational.

First-year Titus Clark (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay, added a second-place finish in the long jump and came in fourth in the high jump.

Classmate Aaron Brick (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) joined the 4x100 and placed fourth in the 200-meters and with the 4x400-meter relay.

Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) completed the 4x100 with Ben Sobel (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) leading off, while Rzempoluch also ran with the 4x400.

Junior Thomas Riordan (Campbell, S.C./Landrum) anchored the 4x400 relay and placed second in the 800-meters.

Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) won the mile with Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) claiming second. Senior Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) was fifth in the mile and came across sixth in the 800-meters, while also helping in the 4x400.

Junior Ethan Burg (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) was second in the 10,000-meters while Matthew Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) was third in the 5000-meters.

Along with the relay, sophomore Sobel also claimed silver in the high jump while Zach Popkin (Washington, D.C./Maret School) was third in the triple.

Chris Harrison (Easton, Md./Easton) was fourth and seventh the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdle events.

Michael Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) and Ryan Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) placed seventh and eighth in the 100-meters while Ellis Kimmel (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) had three top-10 performance in the throwing events.

Brock Hartman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and Francisco Villarreal (Carson, Calif./Carson) also had solid outings in the throwing events.

The Red Devils travel to Gettysburg College next Saturday for the Little Three Championships.
