Men's XC Runs to Fifth at NCAA Mideast Regionals

(Bethlehem, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's cross country team ran to fifth at the 2019 NCAA Mideast Regionals on Saturday afternoon at Lehigh University.

The sophomore brother combination of Charles Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) led the way for the Red Devils, crossing the line 25th and 27th, respectively, with times of 25:35 and 25:36 to earn All-Region honors.

Senior Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) just missed honors, finishing 37th with a time of 25:50.

First-year Ryan Heskin (Floral Park, N.Y./Northfield Mount Hermon) and senior Matt Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) posted times of 26:15 and 26:20 to finish 58th and 66th.

Jacob Doherty Munro (Hudson, Mass./Hudson) crossed the line in 26:31 while senior Odin Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) came in at 28:28.

Carnegie Mellon University held off Johns Hopkins (55-76) to capture the team title while Haverford and Elizabethtown placed third and fourth with 120 and 129 points, respectively. The Red Devils scored 213 points in the field of 51 teams.

Stevenson University's Patrick Watson ran to the individual title with a time of 24:24.
