(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team had a tough outing on Saturday, dropping a 15-2 decision to the #2-ranked College of New Jersey.
The Lions jumped out to a 4-0 start before junior Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) finished an assist from classmate Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) at the 16:08 mark.
That assist marked the 100th point of Marmo's career as a Red Devil.
Allie Gorman struck twice to trigger another four goal run for TCNJ. Kaestner capitalized on a free position attempt, scoring shorthanded, with 4:05 remaining in the half.
Alex Fitzpatrick scored man-up, to make the score 9-2 at the break. Alex Fitzpatrick and Olivia Cleale each found the net twice, leading the way in the second half as the Lions held the Devils for the final of 15-2.
Cleale finished with three goals and one assist and Miranda Chrone made nine saves as TCNJ improved to 4-0 on the season.
Mack Maurer (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) and Greta Holt (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) each controlled three draws and Tara Cassidy (Glen Rock, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) picked up three ground balls, adding a draw and forcing a turnover.
First-year Avery Priest (San Rafael, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) tallied eight saves in the nets for Dickinson. The Red Devils slip to 2-2 on the season. They travel south to Tennessee to face Rhodes College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 pm central time (4:00 pm eastern).
