(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #25-ranked Dickinson women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a 14-9 win over Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon. Senior Anne Dunster (Cos Cobb, Conn./Greenwich) had a big day with seven points to move into second all-time in program history with the 200th point of her career.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair with the Red Devils holding a 6-5 advantage at halftime. Senior Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) tallied a hat-trick in the first half while Mack Maurer (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) struck twice and Dunster added a goal and an assist.
Dunster found Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) to open the second half. She scored on Greta Holt's (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) second assist of the game and then fed Kaestner for another to give Dickinson a 9-5 advantage.
Swarthmore sandwiched a pair of goals around another strike from Dunster before Laurie Travaglini (Darien, Conn./Darien) made a great dodge to score and Maurer stretched the lead to 12-7 at the 8:08 mark.
Travaglini made another strong move to find the net and Bloes tallied a late goal to counter a pair from Swarthmore for the final of 14-9.
Kaestner led the attack with four goals while Dunster tallied three goals and four assists and Maurer finished with a hat-trick as well.
Seniors Maddie Parker (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and McKenzie Rambusch (Madison, N.J./Madison) each recorded three draw controls while Travaglini and Sarah Benziger (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) each added two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
First-year goaltender Drew Yager (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) finished with 14 saves in the nets.
The Red Devils improve to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road on Wednesday, traveling to #2-ranked Gettysburg College for a 4:00 pm start.
